Of course you do .  Because you must have traffic coming to your site in order to make any money online.

I personally get most of my traffic from Google and the other search engines.  

In order to do that I:

1. Pick a keyword (search phrase) with not-too-much competition

2. Create a webpage for the keyword, and 

3. Create backlinks to the page in order to get it to rank

It's pretty straight-forward, and you can do it too.

Of course, there are other ways to get traffic as well.

#1 – SEO

Generating traffic to your website with SEO is great because it is free.  It also builds up your asset which is your website.  The more SEO work you do on one page – the better it is for the entire site.

#2 – Article Marketing

Article marketing is great because it allows you to use the power of other high-ranking sites in order to bring you traffic.
Just make sure you read the other sites’ terms and conditions and spam policy so that you don’t do anything they are unhappy with.

#3 – PPC

This is a great way to get targeted website traffic.  You have to be careful though, because if you don’t know what you are doing you can lose a lot of money.  So before you attempt to get visitors with PPC, read up on how to do it properly.  I’ll probably address it on another post – but not in the near future.
