Writing an e-book might take awhile to complete, but you can get paid for that book forever once it’s put up for sale online. This is one great example of passive income. You write the e-book, make it available for readers and you’ll keep making money on it without having to do anything else.

Create a Blog

Blogs are incredibly easy to set up and you can even choose to use a free host if you like. Blogger and Wordpress are two great websites that will host your blog free on one of their subdomains.

To start, you’ll need to write some content that your website visitors will find interesting. Once you have some content, you can start monetizing that content by using pay-per-click programs such as Google Adsense or by adding an affiliate product on your site that is relevant to your content.

If you decide to monetize your blog with affiliate products, there are certain tricks you can use to get lots of readers to your site. There are other tricks you can use to make sure they go on and buy so you get great commissions. Make sure you learn these tricks so you can make the most money possible.

Even if you haven’t written anything since your high school English class, it doesn’t mean you can’t make money writing. There are plenty of passive income opportunities available for everyone.

#1 – SEO

Generating traffic to your website with SEO is great because it is free.  It also builds up your asset which is your website.  The more SEO work you do on one page – the better it is for the entire site.

#2 – Article Marketing

Article marketing is great because it allows you to use the power of other high-ranking sites in order to bring you traffic.
Just make sure you read the other sites’ terms and conditions and spam policy so that you don’t do anything they are unhappy with.

#3 – PPC

This is a great way to get targeted website traffic.  You have to be careful though, because if you don’t know what you are doing you can lose a lot of money.  So before you attempt to get visitors with PPC, read up on how to do it properly.  I’ll probably address it on another post – but not in the near future.

The article title will determine whether someone will click on your article or not.

If there are 2 articles ranking on Google, and one is much more compelling than the other, then the more compelling one will get a lot more traffic.

And a lot more sales.

Here’s an example:

Let’s say you are ready to buy a camera. You know exactly which model you want, and you have your credit card in hand – ready to buy.

So you search on Google for “get canon a480″ and get the following 2 results:

Get Canon A480 – Take Great Photos

Which one will you be more likely to click on?

I bet the first will get a lot more buyers than the second.

And the second will probably make less sales even if the article is well written.

The article title makes a huge difference

The idea is to get into the head of the person searching for the keyword and figure out what information they REALLY want.

Pretend you are the buyer and ask yourself what would you want if you were searching for that particular keyword.  What would make you say: ‘this is exactly what I was looking for’?

Make sure that your article does just that.

Gives the searcher exactly what they are looking for.

So spend some time brainstorming titles.  It’s worth the time and effort because a good title will bring you a lot more traffic than an average one.  It will also bring you more quality traffic than an average title.  It will attract buyers.  And attracting buyers gets you sales.

And that’s what we all want, isn’t it?
